Fort2Base Race Notice - Sunday, August 28
The Sixth Annual Fort2Base Race will be held on Sunday, August 28.
The race begins in the Fort Sheridan Reserve Center at 7:00 a.m. with runners expected to clear the Fort by 7:40.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for Fort Sheridan's first ever outdoor movie night! The Historic Commission came up with this great idea and will show a classic comedy, filmed in Chicago and Highland Park. For licensing reasons, we are not supposed to advertise the title, but it is a 1986 movie, rated pg-13 at the time. Hint: Shake it up baby now, twist and shout! Concessions will be available for purchase, proceeds to benefit the Fort Sheridan Historical Society.
Come out to Fort Sheridan and walk the trails this weekend. There is information on our military history among the beautiful trails. Visit the Hawk Nest, the Canon, and the Parade Grounds and learn about our history and nature surrounding us.
The board meeting moved from June 23rd to June 30.
Fort Sheridan residents are urged to avoid heading northbound on Sheridan Road (do not take a right out of Fort Sheridan) from June 6-12.
The City of Lake Forest has announced that the railroad and bike path bridges on Westleigh Road are scheduled for maintenance Monday, June 6 to Saturday, June 12. To ensure safety for all vehicular traffic under the bridge, the associated section of Westleigh Road at the two viaducts between Western Avenue to the west and Sheridan Road to the east will be closed for the week. Road closure barricades and detour signage will be in place starting at 6 a.m. June 6th.
To travel northbound residents should take Old Elm to Green Bay Road then turn north to proceed into Lake Forest and other points north.

On Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., there will be a “Change of Command” ceremony held on the South end of the Fort Sheridan Parade Field along Leonard Wood Drive. The Change of Command Ceremony is deeply rooted in military tradition and symbolizes passing the responsibilities of command and maintaining an unbroken succession of command for a military unit.
This event is open to the public and residents of the Town of Fort Sheridan are welcome to attend.

CONTROL BURN NOTICE
Scott and Bartlett Ravines
The Town of Fort Sheridan MHA ravine vendor, Conservation Land Stewardship (CLS), will be conducting a control burn in both Scott and Bartlett ravines. The burn is scheduled for March 14, 2016, weather permitting.
Please note, burning is wholly dependent upon weather and site conditions, precise scheduling is difficult to forecast in advance. CLS will be providing updates starting 48 hours prior to the scheduled burn. CLS updates will be posted on the Lieberman eSTAR website, as well as the Town of Fort Sheridan website www.fortsheridan.com. Please make sure to check the websites regularly in the event weather conditions change.
An email blast with updated control burn information will be sent to all Fort residents on Thursday, March 10. In addition, CLS will be posting sign notices at the Sheridan Road entrance of the Fort on the days in which the burn will be conducted.
